48th Annual Congress of the European Accounting Association (EAA)
The 48th Annual Congress of the European Accounting Association (EAA) took place in Prague from 27 to 29 May 2026. The conference is one of the most important international academic events in the fields of accounting, controlling and corporate management, and offers researchers from around the world a platform for exchanging views on current research topics and new academic findings. Michael Kolodziej, Dr Tim Schwertner, Dr Miriam Maske and Prof. Dr Drahomir Klimsa from the Faculty of Business Administration and Economics at the European University Viadrina were in attendance.

Tim Schwertner presented the research project “Cheers or Checks? What Motivates Employees to Blow the Whistle’ (a joint project with Matthias Sohn). Michael Kolodziej presented the research project ‘Not All Wrongs Are Equal: Performance, Pay Appropriateness, and the Decision to Blow the Whistle’ (a joint project with Matthias Sohn and Kai Bauch). The programme also featured Miriam Maske’s research project “Managing Sustainability Integration in the Public Sector: Insights from the German Federal Administration” (a joint project with Matthias Sohn, Philipp Herrmann, Bernhard Hirsch and David Lindermüller). Also presented was the research project by Prof. Dr Drahomir Klimsa, “How (Not) to Tax Sunshine: Investment Responses to Tax Compliance Costs on Non-Commercial Rooftop Photovoltaic Systems” (a joint project with Sofie Luitz and Robert Ullmann).
The successful conference offered fascinating insights into current fields of research in accounting, management accounting and corporate taxation, and provided a valuable forum for exchange within the field of business administration research. In addition to the numerous academic presentations, there were ample opportunities for personal exchange with international academics.
