Institute Accounting & Taxation

We deal with issues of business taxation, financial and management accounting.

The dual degree programmes in Wirtschaftsprüfung and, from 2025, Business Taxation are based here. In the full-time degree programmes Internationale Betriebswirtschaftslehre and International Business Administration, we offer 3 foundation courses in the Bachelor's degree and the specialisations Taxation and Accounting in the Bachelor's and Master's degree. All students can choose from a wide range of courses in business taxation, tax law, financial accounting and management accounting.

47th Congress of the European Accounting Association (EAA) in Rome

From 28 to 30 May 2025, the 44th Congress of the European Accounting Association (EAA) took place in Rome, Italy. Christina Elschner and Drahomir Klimsa were on site for the Viadrina. Christina Elschner presented the research project "The Role of Tax Advisors in International Tax Policy" (together with Inga Hardeck, Beatrice Renges and Manuel Normann) and Drahomir Klimsa presented the research project "Tax Law Ambiguity, Court Decisions, and the Choice of Organisational Form: Evidence from Poland" (together with Christina Elschner and Agata Nagel).

2nd Ghent Conference on International Taxation

On 5 and 6 May 2025, the Conference on International Taxation took place for the second time in Ghent, Belgium. Drahomir Klimsa represented tax research at the Viadrina and presented his research project "Tax Law Ambiguity, Court Decisions, and the Choice of Organisational Form: Evidence from Poland" (together with Christina Elschner and Agata Nagel) and received valuable feedback.
