The doctorate serves as proof of the ability to carry out in-depth economic work.

The PhD serves as proof of the ability to carry out in-depth economic work. The doctoral procedure is carried out by the Dean, the Faculty Council and the examination bodies. The Faculty Council is responsible for the organisational and administrative implementation of doctoral matters. It appoints a PhD Admission Board.

The prerequisites for admission to the doctoral procedure are generally:

  • a completed Diplom or Master's degree in economics at a university or equivalent institution of higher education or at universities of applied sciences within the scope of the German Higher Education Framework Act and a final grade of at least "good" or
