Aim of the module (expected learning outcomes and competencies to be acquired):
Expertise:
- Knowledge of basic models of international economics and their extensions
- Knowledge of recent literature on globalisation, employment and wages

- academic writing
- academic debate

Contents of the module:
The courses introduces students to the current academic debate on globalisation. A focus lies on the connection between free trade, technological change and labour markets. Furthermore, the course offers a primer in academic writing.

Teaching and learning methods:
Lectures in academic writing, development of scientifc question, literature search and citation rules + block seminar

Literature (compulsory reading, recommended literature):
A list of topics and corresponding reading lists of journal articles will be published at the beginning of the semester.
