Aim of the module (expected learning outcomes and competencies to be acquired):
1. To familiarize students with the epistemological background of (empirical) research.
2. To sensitize students to the challenges of qualitative research.
3. To enable students to provide a high quality of qualitative data analysis, including data interpretation and presentation.
4. To enable students to evaluate and interpret the quality of qualitative research designs.

Contents of the module:
Introduction to research methods and theory of knowledge, including epistemology and ontology Case study as a method
The research process: From the research question to reporting research results; special focus on the practice of qualitative data analysis, e.g., video data: Data preparation, coding, interpretation, and presentation

Teaching and learning methods:
Seminar; individual study for preparation and follow-ups
