Optimization and Simulation of Supply Chains
The main objective of this project is to analyze the combination of discrete-event simulation and linear programming in order to optimize the production and transportation operations in supply chain networks. Through the iterative solution of the linear optimization model and the evaluation via the simulation in short time a solution quality can be reached which is comparable to solutions gained by sophisticated and time-consuming optimization models.
