Seminar Simulation as Decision Support

The master seminar Simulation as Decision Support gives an introduction into the field of discrete-event simulation. The basic principles of a simulation study will be discussed and explained using the software AnyLogic by XjTek. In the practical part, the students will develop and conduct a small simulation study on a production or service process.

In order to successfully complete the course, students will have to present their simulation study and to submit a seminar paper. Regular attendance is mandatory.


The seminar is limited to 20 students. If you want to participate please send an E-Mail to with a current overview of your grades or a copy of your bachelor certificate attached. 
The registration period closes on Wednesday, June 2nd, 2016. Please note that the registration date is irrelevant for the selection process in case the participant limit is reached. Feedback is sent via Email until Friday, June 3rd, 2016. 

Anylogic Software

For the practical lectures each student is requested to bring a laptop where Anylogic 7 (Educational Edition) is already installed. Please download and install Anylogic 7 (for free) from the Anylogic website:
A license key will be provided during the first tutorial on June 08th.
