Prerequisites: Registration is required (see "Weitere Informationen"). Access to this course will be restricted if there are far more students wishing to take this course than the limit we can accommodate. Good knownledge in (corporate) finance is desirable. It is possible to earn a course requirement (Eigenleistungsschein). Provided that you successfully write a term paper and present it to the class.

Aim of the module (expected learning outcomes and competencies to be acquired):
The participants are able to analyze academic research papers on the one hand and can write (structuring, typing, polishing) an academic report on the other hand. Additionally, the participants are able to give a presentation on the major modelling features and model implications in case of theoretical work on the one hand or the hypothesis formulation and empirical evidence in case of empirical studies on the other hand. In a discussion following the presentation the participants acquire the capability to handle sound criticism and to defend their own view. In general, the participants are able to do literature research targeted to some specific topic and acquire academic writing skills.
Contents of the module:
Introduction to the seminar and seminar topics, hints on relevant literature, continuous support by the supervisor prior to the submission of the report, presentation, discussion, feedback on both report and discussion. Topics comprise current issues of modern Finance.
