Aim of the module (expected learning outcomes and competencies to be acquired):
The students are to learn the economic determinants and consequences of international trade flows. Based on the "classical" theories of international trade they are to understand the approaches of the "new" trade theories. Applying these analytical tools the students should be able to evaluate themselves recent developments in international economic relationships.

- Empirical analysis of international trade by countries and product groups
- Theories of inter-industry trade
- Theories of intra-industry trade
- Gravity model of international trade
- Trade policy
- Eastern enlargement of the EU
